Montejo-Kovacevich Lab Uppsala University, Sweden

I am a research librarian with a strong interest in the role natural history museum archives play in supporting scientific research. My work focuses on highlighting archives not only as sites of preservation, but as valuable research infrastructures from which to mobilize occurrence records and taxonomic biodiversity data.

During my two-month stay with the Montejo-Kovacevich Lab, I will mobilize data from the Museum of Evolution’s Kullenberg Excursion Journals, archival insect inventories spanning from 1948 to 1996, and locate corresponding specimens in the entomology collections, with a focus on butterflies. In linking archival records to physical specimens, this work helps unlock historical biodiversity data for genomic time-series research.
