Montejo-Kovacevich Lab Uppsala University, Sweden

I am a bioinformatician/data scientist passionate about data at the intersection of ecology, genetics and biodiversity. In the past I’ve worked with RNA sequencing data to uncover differential gene expression patterns in beetles, designed a pipeline for annotation of environmental DNA (eDNA), and created a workflow to standardize the taxonomic names of species in reference databases. I’m currently working with the Montejo Kovacevich Lab, helping develop a machine learning workflow that reads and processes specimen labels to support the digitalisation of museum archival data. I love everything connecting data to biology - translating complex biological processes into numbers that are interpretable always feels very fascinating to me. Outside computers and biology, I really enjoy bouldering or birdwatching in the forests outside of Uppsala.
